
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born July 10, 1980)[1 is an American actor, singer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Simpson, who was 17 years old, started her career in church choirs. She was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses, her first studio album, came out in 1999. The album sold two million copies across the United States. She also achieved commercial success with her hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson decided to adopt a more mature image for her sophomore album, Irresistible (2001), and the album's title track was her second entry in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In This Skin (2003) the third studio album by Simpson, sold three million copies in the United States. In the early years of her career, Simpson became known for her relationship with , and later wedding to Nick Lachey, with whom she also appeared on the MTV reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). She also recorded her own cover of "These Boots are Made for Walking" for the soundtrack of the film. In 2006 she debuted her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. With the release her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the country music genre. Simpson started The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a fashion-focused line with 34 categories of products. It is the most profitable celebrity licensing company in history that has more than $1 billion in sales to the present. Simpson was also a participant on The Price of Beauty, a reality television show in 2010. She was also the judge for the clothes designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson and has three children.
