Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically diverse family. Her father is Nigerian Swiss as is her mom who's English. She was born in the South London Council Estate. She was a student at The Brit School aged 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. She appeared in many performances on stage during her college days, such as the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began acting with Storm Damage. In the years since, she's appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe landed her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Her popularity resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. She also landed the role of Bambi on the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in episodes two and three. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Her stage credits includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her debut in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama series aired on The CW for only two episodes, before it was ended. The actress was selected in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes of the show's initial two seasons as a regular. However, in May 2013, the announcement was made that she would quit the show due to her guest appearance on the opening episode for its third season. From 2014 until 2016, she starred in Salem as Tituba. From June to July 2012, she got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Her parents Roy and Patty and the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's athletic brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey in the winter. Ashley was never able to walk, but she danced. At the age of two, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in the love. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major divisions up until her graduation from high school. She was a competitor in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe and the acrobatics. She was crowned the top soloist awards at all of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
